When to migrate
Migrate storage if you are changing cloud providers, if your current storage no longer meets your organisation's requirements, or if you need to change from personal storage to a corporate account.
How migration works
OTIS reads all encrypted data from your current storage using your client key, writes it to the new storage provider, verifies the transfer, and then switches the active storage configuration. Your current storage remains active until migration completes successfully. If migration fails at any point, the original storage remains unchanged.
Step 1: Go to Settings
Navigate to Settings in the OTIS dashboard.
Step 2: Click Migrate storage
In the Data Storage section, click Migrate storage. This opens the migration panel showing your current provider and the available alternatives.
Step 3: Connect the new provider
Select the new provider and complete the connection process — OAuth for Google Drive or OneDrive, credentials for S3. OTIS will not switch until the new provider is verified.
Step 4: Start migration
Click Start migration. OTIS will copy all data in the background. For large data sets, this may take several minutes. Do not close the browser during migration.
After migration
Once complete, OTIS shows a confirmation with the number of items migrated. Your new storage is now active. You can optionally delete the OTIS Intelligence Data folder from your old storage provider.
