What OTIS imports from Xero
OTIS imports bank transactions from Xero to identify technology spend. It classifies each transaction by vendor, maps it to a technology category (SaaS, cloud, telecom, hardware), and identifies billing frequency. It requests read-only access and cannot create, modify, or delete any Xero data.
Step 1: Go to Integrations
In the OTIS dashboard, navigate to Integrations.
Step 2: Select your environment
Use the Environment dropdown to select the environment you want to connect Xero to.
Step 3: Connect Xero
Click Connect Xero. You will be redirected to Xero's OAuth consent screen. Sign in with your Xero account and authorise OTIS to read your bank transactions.
Step 4: Return to OTIS
After authorising, you will be redirected back to OTIS. The Xero card will show as Connected.
Step 5: Run a sync
Click Sync now to import transactions. Select how many months of history to import (up to 12). The sync typically takes 30-60 seconds depending on transaction volume.
Troubleshooting
If you see Xero integration not configured, the Xero credentials have not been set up for your instance. Contact your administrator. If the sync returns No transactions found, check that your Xero account has bank transactions in the selected date range and that the connected Xero organisation is the correct one.
